Each year CoED Magazine puts together a year-end list compiling the most popular women on the web, based on Google searches. Their method isn’t really all that scientific (they search a number of relevant women and record the number of search results), and it’s not even based on numbers Google publishes themselves, but lists are always fun. This year, in a surprise twist, singer Lana Del Rey beat out the rest of the competition that included Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Rihana, Adele, and 45 other actresses and singers. We knew Lana had a huge year and that her music had an influence on a lot of pop music from the second half of the year, but we can’t say we saw this coming. Still, it’s great to see that people are discovering new music like Lana’s and appreciating its quality. Check out the rest of the list here.
