Singer Songwriter Elijah Blake Joins RocNation

It looks like RocNation has a new member to celebrate today. Singer-songwriter Elijah Blake becomes the latest addition to Jay-Z’s label’s roster. While Elijah has yet to confirm, we’re going to guess this is a management deal, since Elijah already has an artist deal with Def Jam through No I.D, and RocNation has several artists under their management umbrella, including Rihanna, Wale and Meek Mill.

You may recognize the newbie’s name from Rick Ross’ recent record with Pharrell, “Presidential”, but Elijah, formerly known as Redd Stylez, has also been in the studio with and written for (as evidenced by his Tumblr) Mariah Carey, Kelly Rowland, Ciara, and Keyshia Cole (“Enough of No Love”). His biggest break to this point, though, has been penning Usher’s #1 single “Climax”. Elijah took to Twitter to reveal the good news, mentioning that he already has a song with J. Cole in the stash. His 7 Days EP is set for a September release.

Read his account of the studio sessions with Diplo and Usher that led to “Climax” here via Complex.
