About a month ago, Roc Nation’s Rita Ora released her single “R.I.P. (I’m Ready For Ya)” originally featuring just Tinie Tempah. And today, OVOXO lets loose of the song’s remix, featuring Drake. You may remember a reference for this song leaking close to three years ago by Drake, over a different beat. Now the final version of the Drake-penned track gets a Drake verse and some singing towards the end that you may remember from that same reference. Not sure if this is the lead single, or perhaps a lead single for the UK. Jay-Z had premiered another single “Party and Bullshit” with the British singer on New York radio a month ago, so maybe they’re going to push both as the summer approaches. I can’t really figure out Rita Ora. She’s like a British, blonde Rihanna who was only signed because Jay-Z couldn’t actually sign Rihanna when he started Roc Nation. Of course now, Rihanna is managed by Roc Nation, so there’s that. But at least we’re actually hearing some music from her. Since she got signed three years ago, she’s done some modeling, appeared in Drake’s video for “Over” and Jay’s for “Young Forever”, and well, that’s pretty much it. Expect Rita’s debut album to feature writing and production from The-Dream, Esther Dean and Stargate.
