Wale Talks SOPA, Common and Upcoming Projects
Wale recently did an interview with Boi-1da.net, where he briefly touched on his feelings about SOPA and how he, as an artist, wishes to utilize the internet.
“The more I get involved in it or think about stuff like that the more I take away from the music, so I just kinda let the world be the world. Ya know what I’m sayin’ and like keep my mouth shut if I’m not all the way knowin’ exactly what’s going on. I just know that I want to continue to make music and give it to the people for free and then if it’s good enough when it’s time for it to be sold they’ll go out and support it. I’m a fan of the mode that it is now, we have to work harder than they prolly did in the 90′s, but that’s the price we pay.”
He went on to discuss writing music based on the mood he’s in at the time and how it reaches different people, and his feelings on Common’s “Sweet” track.
