Jay Z: Well my mother named me Shawn because when I was born to her, it was her right.
Dave: Then what happened ?
Jay Z: People started calling me it.

I think Dave was trying to understand how he went from 'Shawn" to "Jay-Z" Has Jay ever answered that question. Does it have something to do with Jaz, or maybe Masonry?
